The Technology Fair is back again for a second year! We’ve proudly hosted the popular annual Technology Fair in-person on our Newton-based campus for decades, but we’ve decided to have it as a virtual event once more. That means we’re bringing presentations and cutting-edge manufacturers of assistive technology straight to your living room.

To register for the Technology Fair, simply sign-up on the event page at no cost to you. As we get closer to the event, we’ll provide registered attendees with a link to the virtual exhibit hall where attendees can access virtual exhibitor booths, a schedule of events, detailed workshop descriptions and more. The virtual exhibit hall will have links to our live main session, individual breakout rooms to talk directly to exhibitors, and other resources.

No! As always, the Technology Fair is free for attendees. Our goal is to connect you with innovative assistive technology that can make an immediate impact in the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired.

We’re dedicated to making sure that the Virtual Technology Fair is fully accessible for all. We’ve chosen to use Zoom as the main event platform for their robust accessibility features. The Carroll Center for the Blind also has a dedicated team of accessibility experts working to ensure our event web pages are accessible.

Our virtual exhibition hall will be open from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. EST. You’ll be able to access virtual exhibitor booths anytime during those hours to learn more about the company, and even chat with a representative, just like at our in-person Technology Fair! Simply navigate to the main Zoom meeting room and select the exhibitor you’d like to connect with.

Internet Explorer is not supported. Get the latest Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, or Safari.

Most up to date computers and mobile devices such as laptops, desktops, and handheld tablets are capable of running the virtual event for you. Click to here run the pre-event Zoom Test. Please also make sure that you’ve upgraded to the latest version of Zoom by visiting zoom.us/download.

Because the virtual event means that you won’t be able to have an in-person visit to The Carroll Store, we are excited to offer you 10% off all phone orders on Monday 11/22 (please note The Carroll Store hours for Thanksgiving week are Monday and Tuesday, 10 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.). The discount is only valid on Monday; please mention the Virtual Technology Fair when placing your order.
