Introduction to the Google Workspace Environment

Carroll Center Remote Technology Instruction brings training directly to blind and visually impaired individuals in the convenience of any location; whether it be in the home, workplace or school setting. We use Zoom to offer hands-on practical instruction in a wide range of areas.

All sessions will be held 9:00 AM-3:00 PM with an 1 hour lunch break. Every remote trainees will need a computer with Windows 10 or 11 and a built-in microphone, internet access, recent versions of JAWS (no older than JAWS 2023) or NVDA and Microsoft 2016 or Office 365 for those topics. Users should have at least beginner-level JAWS skills. If you do not already have a Zoom account, instructors will assist you in creating an account and installing the program on your computer.

Funding may be available for persons who are registered with their state services for the blind. Private pay is also an option.

As reference material, we use the third edition of “The Windows Screen Reader Primer: All the Basics and More,” authored by Carroll Center instructor David Kingsbury.
