Walk for Independence - The Carroll Center for the Blind

Thank you to all who joined us at the Carroll Center for the Blind’s 12th annual Walk for Independence on June 1, 2024! With your invaluable support, we exceeded our fundraising goal, raising more than $280,000!

The Walk for Independence supports the Carroll Center for the Blind's mission of empowering those who are blind or visually impaired to achieve independence and to lead a fulfilling life. Attendees will complete a 1, 2, or 3-mile walk around the Mt. Ida campus of UMass Amherst in Newton followed by activities for all ages.

2025 Walk for Independence Save the Date

When: Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. ET

Where: Mount Ida Campus of UMass Amherst – 100 Carlson Ave, Newton, MA

Registration: 9:00am

Walk kick-off: 10:00 am

Post-walk BBQ and activities: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
