Instructions for Downloading the Book
1. After you activate the download link, one of two things will happen. Either a zip folder entitled “Windows Screenreader Primer Fourth Edition.zip” will be downloaded to your Downloads folder. If this happens, skip to step 6 below.
2. If instead you are redirected to a Dropbox page, do the following:
3. Press B a number of times until you land on the Download button, and press Enter.
4. This opens a log in or sign up dialog which you can ignore.
5. Instead, press B again a number of times to the Or Continue with Download only button and press Enter. A ZIP folder should now be downloaded to your Downloads folder on your PC.
6. Navigate to your downloads folder.
7. The ZIP folder contains subfolders with the book broken up into individual chapter files in both Microsoft Word and ePub formats, as well as an additional subfolder with practice files. A single Word file also appears containing the entire text.
8. The ZIP file needs to be extracted into a separate folder. To do this, place focus on the ZIP folder, press the Applications key (or Shift F10), Up arrow to Show more options and press Enter (Windows 11 users only). Down arrow to the Extract submenu and press Enter twice. This will create a new folder with
the same name, minus the ZIP extension, in your Downloads folder, and you will land inside the folder.
9. Press the Backspace to go up one level in your folder structure with focus now on the unzipped folder you just created.
10. You should then move it elsewhere on your computer.
