Jill Suarez Honored with 2024 Bill McMahon Employee of Outstanding Distinction Award

(June 26, 2024) – We are thrilled to announce that Jill Suarez has been named this year’s recipient of the Bill McMahon Employee of Outstanding Distinction Award. This award was created in 2017 in memory of William H. McMahon, Vice Chair of The Carroll Center for the Blind Board of Directors and former client.

Jill has been with the Carroll Center for over 14 years as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) and exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated service provider. She devotes her time, attention, and expert skills fully to each and every person fortunate enough to be touched by her passionate care and training. Jill’s expertise in Orientation and Mobility instruction has been honed through years of hard work, assisting a wide variety of clients with often complex needs in challenging service locations. Her compassion, commitment, and community spirit are exemplary.

Jill quietly excels in her work, consistently going above and beyond for all the clients she serves. She is respected by every member of our staff and is known as an excellent instructor who can be relied upon for advice, mentorship, and thoughtful guidance. She fosters a wonderful attitude of sharing and learning among all of us. Jill’s professionalism, positivity, integrity, humility, quiet leadership, and unwavering passion for the Carroll Center’s mission make her a truly deserving recipient of the Bill McMahon Employee of Outstanding Distinction Award.
