John “Jack” McCarthy was a kind, generous, and steadfast supporter of the Carroll Center for the Blind who passed away peacefully in early 2020. Over the past 53 years of serving on our Board of Directors, Jack dedicated his life to helping those who are blind and visually impaired obtain crucial skills necessary to live independent and successful lives.

As a former Board Chair and passionate member of the development committee, Jack knew that every person and donation made a difference. He felt strongly that, by working together, we could accomplish so much more. He understood the need for our transformative services and the potential to be able to help so many in need.

In honor of Jack, the Carroll Center for the Blind has established the John “Jack” McCarthy Memorial Fund. The Fund in his name supports crucial rehabilitation, educational, vocational, and technology training for people of all ages and stages of vision loss.
