The Walk for Independence isn’t just a walk—it’s a celebration of community, empowerment, and fun! Together with over 500 alumni, families, friends, sponsors, and supporters, we’ll walk to raise $275,000 to support the Carroll Center for the Blind’s mission to help individuals who are blind or visually impaired live independent, fulfilling lives.

• Date: May 31, 2025
• Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • 9:00 a.m.: Registration opens 
  • 10:00 AM: Walk – choose from a 1, 2, or 3-mile route
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Post-walk activities including free BBQ, Cabot’s ice cream, sensory activities, assistive technology displays, adaptive games, and more!
• Place: Mt. Ida campus of UMass Amherst, Newton, MA
