Part-Time | 10–20 Hours/Week | 6–12 Month Project

Salary: $30.00–$33.00/hour

Every day, people across Massachusetts experience vision loss, yet many are never referred to the rehabilitation services that can help them regain their independence.
The Carroll Center for the Blind is seeking a motivated, relationship-oriented Graduate student to work directly with our President & CEO on a strategic one-year, statewide outreach initiative. Together, we’ll create awareness among ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other vision care providers so more patients are connected to the life-changing services and support available through the Carroll Center.
What You'll Do
- Research and identify leading ophthalmology and optometry practices and physician leaders across Massachusetts.
- Coordinate meetings and outreach efforts between the President and healthcare leaders.
- Build and maintain an outreach database and engagement calendar.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for meeting logistics and follow-up
communications. - Prepare meeting materials and background information for meetings.
- Track outreach activities, meeting outcomes, and follow-up opportunities.
- Assist with other outreach and partnership initiatives as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Current graduate student (or recent graduate).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Professional phone and email etiquette.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with scheduling tools.
- Interest in healthcare, nonprofit leadership, public health, or community engagement.

About the Carroll Center for the Blind
The Carroll Center for the Blind empowers people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired to achieve independence and lead fulfilling lives through innovative rehabilitation, education, technology, and community services. This internship supports a strategic initiative to strengthen partnerships with eye care providers and improve patient access to non-clinical/functional vision rehabilitation services throughout Massachusetts.
