Whether you’re newly diagnosed, navigating life with GA, supporting a loved one, or working in the field, this series is your opportunity to hear directly from experts, ask questions, and access resources that can help.

Featuring Dr. Marisa Tieger, Vitreoretinal Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine, this second session will provide a detailed look at current FDA-approved treatment options for GA, including Syfovre and Izervay. Dr. Tieger will explain how these treatments work, what makes them different, who is eligible, and how to access them. The session will also cover what to realistically expect from treatment and how vision rehabilitation can support quality of life.

About the Speaker

Dr. Marisa Tieger is a vitreoretinal surgeon and an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine. A graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine, she completed her residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, where she served as Chief Resident and Director of the Ocular Trauma Service, followed by a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery. Dr. Tieger provides both medical and surgical care for a range of retinal diseases and has a special interest in ocular trauma and infectious retinal conditions. She is also an accomplished academic clinician with ongoing research and a strong commitment to patient education and care.
