Future Generations are in your hands.
No matter how you choose to give to the Generations campaign, you’ll be joining a movement to address the urgent and advancing needs of blind and visually impaired clients of all ages and all stages. There are a number of ways to give to the campaign, depending on your philanthropic goals. The options listed here are just some of the highlights, and we’re happy to listen to your priorities and suggest ways that you can have an impact.
Annual Gifts
Making an annual gift of any size every year is a meaningful way donors can have an ongoing impact on the clients and community we serve. The Carroll Center’s annual fund powers critical programs across the organization and forms the solid foundation from which we can launch innovations that advance the field of vision rehabilitation. As such, it is imperative for our donors to continue making annual fund contributions to support ongoing operations during this campaign.
Our $18 million goal includes an annual fund goal of $10 million. Therefore, every gift made to the Carroll Center is recognized as part of the Generations Campaign and helps us drive change on behalf of clients today and for generations to come.
Leadership Gifts
While annual gifts are critical for ongoing operations, the Generations campaign represents a rare opportunity for donors to make philanthropic gifts that allow our organization to take giant steps forward. The Generations campaign strives to raise $8 million in incremental funds, so we hope donors will consider making an additional, special gift to the campaign while continuing to support the annual fund each year.
With a gift of $2,500 or more, you’ll join a generous group of Carroll Center donors as a member of the Philanthropy Circle of Independence. This leadership giving circle consists of six recognition levels honoring increasing degrees of philanthropy and provides members with year-round recognition and opportunities to engage with the Carroll Center.
Philanthropy Circle gifts can be given without restrictions, or you can restrict your gift to a specific program you are passionate about. Naming opportunities are available for both restricted and unrestricted gifts.
Endowed Gifts
The Carroll Center’s endowment is a sign of the organization’s strength and is key to our future as a world-renowned vision rehabilitation center. An endowed gift is a gift that keeps giving for generations to come.
Endowed gifts can support the Carroll Center’s general endowment or be restricted to a specific program, speaker series, staff position, or capital need. Whether you make an unrestricted gift to support the general endowment, give to an existing endowed fund, or establish a new endowed fund, the principal of your gift will be invested to generate revenue for a purpose of your choice in perpetuity.
A new named endowment fund or an endowment fund for a specific purpose can be funded with a minimum gift of $100,000. You can name the fund for yourself, your family, a friend or loved one, or someone at the Carroll Center who made a difference to you.

Planned Gifts
A planned gift can allow you to make a personally significant gift to the Carroll Center without reducing your current income. Planned gifts can be made with a bequest in your will or revocable trust, by beneficiary designation in a retirement account, life insurance policy or investment account, or through other types of planning arrangements. Through an estate gift, you can establish a legacy that will benefit future generations of Carroll Center clients.
An impactful way to support the Generations Campaign is to document a planned gift to the Carroll Center. This is a very simple process that includes filling out a Bequest Intention Form that outlines your future gift intentions. Not only will documenting your bequest ensure the Carroll Center fulfills your wishes appropriately, but for donors over the age of 65, the value of your bequest can be counted as a gift to the Generations Campaign.
Naming Opportunities
The Generations Campaign offers numerous naming opportunities that allow you to support the Carroll Center while leaving a permanent impression that will last forever. Opportunities include naming programs, staff positions, or spaces on the Carroll Center campus. You may recognize yourself or your family, honor a friend or loved one, or pay tribute to someone who helped you. The Development team can work with you to identify naming opportunities that align with your areas of interest and philanthropic goals.
