Walk for Independence

Event Description

The Carroll Center for the Blind’s Walk for Independence is back on Saturday, June 3rd! Join us to celebrate 11 years of the Walk for Independence, an extraordinary community event that supports our mission of empowering those who are blind or visually impaired to achieve independence and to lead a fulfilling life.

Attendees will complete a 1, 2, or 3-mile walk around the beautiful Mt. Ida campus of UMass Amherst in Newton followed by food, music, accessible games, and fun for the entire family. All the activities offer unique opportunities for both sighted and visually impaired individuals to participate.

The Walk for Independence is not only a fundraising event, but also a celebration of the entire community coming together to improve the lives of people with vision loss. Come make a difference, one step at a time.
