About the Presenter
Bruce Howell, Accessibility Services Manager
Bruce Howell joined the staff at The Carroll Center for the Blind in July of 2012. He is a graduate of Colgate University and previously enjoyed a long career in Retail Banking, followed by time in Job Development for persons with disabilities. In his current role with the Carroll Center, Bruce has primary responsibility for business development and digital accessibility services and product management. He works with clients to help them to identify and articulate their product and digital accessibility challenges and assigns Carroll Center resources to best meet those client needs. This work has included numerous projects supporting recruitment and logistical support for academic and health industry researchers. Bruce is also a proficient user of some of the Assistive Technologies used to perform the testing and evaluation work on client products, websites, mobile applications, and other types of digital content. He was recently Chair of the Rehabilitation Council at the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind and served as a member of his hometown’s Commission on Disability for many years.
