Introduction to iPhone with VoiceOver Short Course
Do you have an iPhone and want to learn more about its’ accessibility features? Join us for an introductory course!
This three-hour training course will provide a solid foundation for beginners on the basics of using VoiceOver with the iPhone. VoiceOver is the text-to-speech software that comes built into the iPhone and enables blind people to use it. Specific topics during the course will include:
- Using Siri to make voice commands.
- VoiceOver gestures.
- Using the Phone app to make calls, manage contacts, and access Voice Mail.
- Using other native apps like Calendar, Reminders, Clock, and Messages.
Participants need to have an iPhone SE Second Generation or above (7, 8, 10, 11, 12, or 13), and be running I O S 15. At the end of the course participants will receive a series of short recordings for future reference, as well as an emailed list of VoiceOver gestures. Contact Kathy.felt@carroll.org to register.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Vaccinations are required to attend our in-person training course.
