Obama to Sign Markey Bill – Carroll Center to attend

We are proud to note that on Friday, October 8, President Barack Obama will sign the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010 into law, deliver brief remarks on the impact of this law on people with disabilities and celebrate the enactment of Rosa’s Law. This event in the East Room will be open to the press and streamed on whitehouse.gov/live starting at 2:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.

The Carroll Center’s own Computer Training Services Director, Brian Charlson, a long time advocate in the area of accessible technology, will be attending the event and will present President Obama a limited edition paperweight containing a coin with Father Thomas Carroll’s likeness on one side and the word peace spelled out in braille in three different languages on the other.

Archive footage of this event is available on the Whitehouse web site.
